John Koethe is distinguished professor of philosophy at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He is the author of nine books of poetry, most recently ROTC Kills. He has received the Lenore Marshall, Kingsley Tufts, and Frank O’Hara awards. He is also the author of books on Wittgenstein and on philosophical skepticism. His new book, The Swimmer, will be published in March.
