Kimo Nelson often travels from his home in Brooklyn to Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona and Canyonlands National Park in Utah, making photographs and drawings that form the basis of such paintings as this untitled work. He returns often to protected wilderness sites, appreciating them as places for contemplation as well as wellsprings for his art. His paintings have been exhibited in New York, Washington, Boston, Providence, Rhode Island, and Portland, Oregon.
