Poetry - Summer 2018

By Bibhu Padhi | June 4, 2018

Where from this feeling of being alone?
This intoxication?

The Canterbury hops’ attempts
to detach themselves

from what the world is,
appears to be?

Everyone is crazy about
being alone, with their favourite drink.

You ask, why this selfish craving
for aloneness, this feeling of
not being watched, ignored?

It seems this is the only thing
one needs in order to be happy.

The only other being by
putting oneself beside

the well-known mad-man-of-the-town
pissing in the street.
