Susan Abbott has had her landscapes and still life paintings exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Baltimore Museum of Art, among many other places. Since moving from the Washington, D.C., area to Vermont in 1994, she has depicted not only the pastoral landscapes of her adopted state but also the structures built upon it. She is particularly interested in places where hard work is done, for example, the barn in this recent painting, Barnyard, Cloudy Day (oil on linen panel, 16” × 16”).
