Amit Chaudhuri is the author of seven novels, most recently Friend of My Youth. His sixth novel, Odysseus Abroad, is based on the Odyssey and on Ulysses. He is a professor of creative writing and the director of the Centre for the Creative and the Critical at Ashoka University. His eighth novel, Sojourn, will be published in the United States in September.
