Jonathan Coleman is the New York Times best-selling author of five books, including Long Way to Go: Black and White in America and his collaboration with Jerry West, West by West: My Charmed, Tormented Life. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, New York Magazine, The New York Times, Time, Newsweek, The Washington Post, The Hedgehog Review, and the Scholar. He taught narrative nonfiction writing at the University of Virginia for many years and was a book editor at Knopf and Simon & Schuster as well as a journalist for CBS News.
